Welcome!

Inside you will find both large and small decorative and collectable antique boxes, clocks, inkwells and object du vertu.

The boxes were originally used as tea caddies, sewing boxes, game boxes, jewelry boxes. snuff boxes, or visiting card cases. The boxes are made from materials such as tortoiseshell, ivory, mother-of-pearl, and papier-mâché. Many boxes include marquetry and parquetry inlays of exotic woods. Some Anglo-Indian boxes have been decorated with porcupine quills and horn. The Chinese export (China trade) boxes have been finely hand-decorated in lacquer, with gold applied in intricate designs. There are exquisite examples of English, French and Continental penwork and Chinoiserie decoration. Some boxes are decorated with semi-precious stones—such as agate, jade and man-made Murano goldstone—often mounted in gold or silver.

The clock collection includes carriage clocks by Breguet, Tiffany & Co., and other fine makers and retailers. Each clock is in excellent working order. There are also larger clocks, including French crystal regulator clocks, portico clocks, cartel clocks, and curious ball clocks.

The inkwell collection includes both crystal inkwells with silver tops, and hand-carved wooden inkwells in the form of dogs' heads.
